QA Tester – London at What3Words
London, GB

What3words helps everyone talk about everywhere by giving every location on Earth a simple 3 word address. We are looking for an experienced and talented QA tester who is comfortable testing both mobile iOS & Android apps and core technology coded such Java, C++ and web based javascript, while working in a fast paced, innovative environment.

You’ll be joining our fast growing tech team, working on our global customer facing technology to assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches, and ensure customers have a stable and consistent experience across our software.

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse system specifications
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, JIRA and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr, Appium, Selenium, AWS Device Farm) and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English
  • A focus on high quality work and attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
