Marketing Manager (Social Community & Programming) at Two Bit Circus

We are looking for a fellow Carny to run our burgeoning social community and programming. Our ideal candidate is someone who can juggle daily community, social media/posting, creatively represent the Companies tone while prospecting/maintaining fans, develop creative content and understands paid, earned and owned marketing techniques, metrics, and tools.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will lead out the vision for all community and social programming. Working side by side with marketing, public relations and events, you will help define the full community experience for Two Bit Circus. You are passionate about building the relations between people that play games and Two Bit Circus, and you take responsibility for the quantity and quality of the connections between gamers. You are experienced in the management of community programs, managing content pipeline, newsletters, social media channels and are comfortable acting as editor for Two Bit Circus. Your ability to do it yourself makes you an effective carney and makes everything you touch better.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role;
  • Works with the Marketing Director in a start-up environment to constantly design, refine and implement ambitious community strategy including, the design of social framework, co-creation, and management of content calendar (community/ social portals) and placement of content, project manage the newsletter, chat sessions, player relations;
  • Coordinate closely with development teams, public relations, legal, finance, marketing as directly responsible individual for size and strength of the Two Bit Circus community;
  • Manage current and cultivate members of Two Bit Circus VIP, creator, evangelists, and ambassadors;
  • As needed develop, provide curated content, tool kits for delivery (and removal) of content by these contributors;
  • Coach, counsel and guide contributors and their content ensuring alignment to culture and tone of Two Bit Circus policies and processes;
  • Develop and build out community/social media for Two Bit Circus;
  • Maintains, records, monitors, and reports monthly Community and Social Media KPI metrics and shares with key employees and management in a timely, efficient manner;
  • Maintains, updates, and distributes VIP, influencer, evangelist, and ambassador Two Bit Circus database/contact list;
  • Documents, coordinates, and reports on social and community ‘like in kind’ co-marketing, ‘soft marketing’ offset with partners and shares with key employees and management in a timely, efficient manner;
  • Develop and manage deep understanding of our Two Bit Circus players/gamers;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of personal and organizational information;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • The position is based in Los Angeles;
  • Marketing, Public Relations or Social/Community experience in entertainment or hospitality industry;
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree and three to five years experience required;
  • Experience working in a start-up environment;
  • Requires comfort with public speaking and excellent written and verbal skills;
  • Passion for games and community;
  • Experience working with Powerpoint/Google Slides, Radian6, CRM (Bitrix - Sales Force), Facebook, Google, SEM, Adwords & Google Analytics a plus;
  • Experience working in a startup environment is essential;
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis;
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position require the employee to regularly use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hand and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 7:00pm. Due to the park’s hours of operation and the schedules of the park staff, occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
