Systems Administrator at SilkRoad

SilkRoad is seeking a System Administrator to manage a Windows based Software as a Service (SaaS) production environment in a fast-paced, growing enterprise.  In this position, you will need expert level knowledge in Windows Server coupled with Azure administration. Experience in implementing automated processes, developing standards and managing large stable infrastructure is highly desirable. 


Additional responsibilities include:


  • Managing Microsoft clusters, Hyper-V clusters and SQL clusters, SAN hardware, network infrastructure in multiple data centers including Azure cloud environments.
  • Coordinating support with senior and principle administrators across multiple product lines.
  • Performing software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, scheduling installations/upgrades and maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of server and network performance within an enterprise business application environment.
  • Self -starter, self-learner.
  • Ability to focus on both the details and the big picture as required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to work effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and growing environment.
  • Willingness to work after hours when required.
  • Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation within the IT team.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Expert knowledge managing large Windows 2008/2012/2016 environment.
  • Strong background working with HyperV and HyperV clusters.
  • Working knowledge of 2008/2016 SQL server and SQL clusters.
  • Ability to manage multiple Active Directory domains and services.
  • Working experience with designing and maintaining backup solutions.
  • Experience documenting solutions, processes, procedures and recovery plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in change management processes and use of enterprise standard change control procedure.
  • Experience with scripting languages preferably Powershell.


Preferred experience:


  • NetApp Storage experience
  • F5 load balancer experience.
  • IIS, certificate management.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco IOS/Nexus.
