Technical Project Manager (Business Development Implementation) at What3Words
London, GB

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to work with our enterprise clients looking at the implementation of what3words technology and/or partner’s services within their systems and operations.

You will sit within the Product Operations team and will be responsible for reviewing external client’s product operational demands, developing project plans and ensuring that operation projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet with client expectations.

This job will entail hard work and long hours (with a healthy respect for work-life balance), including significant international travel opportunities. It will be highly demanding, and you will be expected to meet challenging targets – but you will also be part of building this global business from the ground up. It is likely that you will have come from an account management or project management background or have an interest in pursuing a career in technical implementation planning. We are specifically interested in the right personality with compatible skills rather than an arbitrary length/type of previous experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the post-sales relationships with clients
  • Problem-solving using what3words products and partner services to deliver end to end operational solutions for clients.
  • Providing training and end-user support during and after the product operation set up process.
  • May be involved in pre-sales product demonstrations or be required to aid in scoping projects or developing proposals.
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of what3words products and partner services
  • Engage in special projects to support success of our customers

Requirements

You will have:

  • Worked in a startup, scale-up or an alternative fast-paced and flexible environment
  • Demonstrable success in building long-term relationships and delivering success for / with clients
  • Experience and understanding of sales, marketing and communications
  • An excellent understanding of what3words, with ideas for how we can grow our consumer adoption through business partnerships
  • An agile mind with the ability to think and react quickly, with consistently good judgement
  • A willingness to travel – sometimes 7-10 days a month

  • Quick-thinking, with the ability to think on your feet and come up with ways to inspire, reassure and inform clients as needed
  • Able to understand client motivations, needs and pain points and respond to them rapidly

  • Tenacious – able and determined to quickly understand technical requirements to support partner integrations and troubleshooting efforts
  • Resourceful – able to juggle tasks, deadlines, dependencies, roadblocks and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Confident in managing complex relationships across different teams and geographies
  • Absolutely dedicated to our vision for changing the way the world is addressed, and determined to be a part of making it happen

Extra points if you have:

  • Worked with, or account managed consumer brands
  • Ever written any code or created/sold a technology product
  • A track record of converting new business into sustained revenue
  • Speak another language or have lived/worked abroad
  • Done something unusual outside of work (like cycling around the world, or setting up a business on the side)
