Associate Software Engineer at Carbon Black

If you are a technically curious and quality minded engineer with solid C++ and Python programming experience, we want you on our team!

We have ambitious goals this year to continue to deliver a high quality macOS sensor and greatly expand our feature set and the extent of our automated test coverage. The ideal engineer will possess the technical flexibility and programming/debugging skills to work with both product code and test automation code effectively, as we find and resolve bugs before shipping each Cb Defense Sensor release. You will be an integral part of the identification, investigation and resolution of bugs discovered in our product source code during testing, helping to isolate and fix issues.  Automation is key to our ability to develop an agile, fast paced development process, and you will play a pivotal role in Carbon Black's success in this area as well. 

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with a dynamic and creative team shaping the future of cybersecurity 
  • Debug issues discovered in the product, determine the root cause, and implement or recommend fixes to the team
  • Own and implement aspects of the product source code
  • Triage, reproduce, and diagnose or resolve bugs reported internally or by customers
  • Build tools to support team efficiency and enhance investigation of product issues
  • Expand, refactor, and refine automation infrastructure
  • Design and implement automated test suites for improved feature coverage
  • Partner with and learn from teams of excellent, highly technical developers and automation engineers,  improving the system quality and coverage (during design and implementation phases) 

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in software development with C++ and Python with an emphasis on sound quality processes and procedures
  • Demonstrable technical test/debugging skills with a track record of adopting and effectively using new tools and technologies
  • Experience with source control management tools
  • Linux and/or mac knowledge, and experience (including Linux and macOS command line)
