Project Manager - Engineered Cells at Synthego

Synthego is seeking a Project Manager who is skilled in the genome editing technology, will coordinate, lead, document and report on a variety of client-facing service projects, be the internal client advocate, focused on managing client communication & relationship with various internal project deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience on the cutting-edge technology of CRISPR, interfacing with scientists on complex, data intensive projects with a deeply analytical set of scientific stakeholders.

What You'll Do

    • Plan, monitor, coordinate and lead multiple service Orders from the generation of project work plans to the delivery of final project summary.
    • Evaluate the scientific feasibility of the complex requests and have a sound decision making on the technical front.
    • Be the primary client communication focal point for the project team and facilitate responses to client questions and observations.
    • Prepare and manage the project work plan to meet required milestones, lead meetings with client and internal teams to facilitate project completion and deliver the project within agreed upon timeline and budget.
    • Identify appropriate resources and develop a schedule and budget to ensure timely completion of the Order.
    • Be responsible for all aspects of a Gene editing orders over the entire project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close); timelines, milestone tracking, cost management, action logs, documented communication, project dashboard/snapshots, and all other requirements for effective execution and timely communication on project status including risk mitigations and action plans to keep the project to its schedule.
    • Interface with all functions affected by the project, including sales, R+D, product management, manufacturing, quality assurance, and support.
    • Lead, motivate, and inspire project cross-functional team members; conduct regular project meetings and document status of the project including technical, schedule and financial considerations
    • Manage a project portfolio to meet evolving deadlines by balancing and optimizing resources.
    • Identify and document scope changes, ensuring timing and budget impact are communicated to all stakeholders.
    • Support invoicing processes including maintaining project status, planning invoice dates, and milestone review and approval.
    • Develop and distribute daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting mechanisms, as needed.
    • Speak to all the Synthego business services and promote Synthego at client meetings and conferences.
    • Plan, develop, monitor, and track projects schedules through project management related software such as MS Project (or similar).
    • Have the drive and capability to develop into Project Management Site Lead.

About You

    • A bachelor or higher degree in biological or life science field.
    • A certificate in PMP, ISO, Six-Sigma or ITIL. 
    • Proven experience and knowledge of skills in wet lab, including molecular and cellular biology, gene modification for human cell lines.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organization(s) in positions of increasing responsibility in project management.
    • Hands-on experience in scoping and executing complex projects.
    • Familiarity with project planning tools such as MS Project (or similar) and concepts such as task dependencies.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment while delivering high quality results.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, with ability to influence at all levels.
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across organizations in delivering the best outcome of complex programs.
    • Outstanding communication skills appropriate for all levels within the company, visually communicating goals of program, relationship to business goals, and other relevant success criteria.
