Senior Electrical Engineer at Embodied

Position Summary

 

Embodied is looking to add a talented and creative Senior Electrical Engineer to our growing technical team.

 

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

 

 

Electrical Circuit Design:Conceptualize, design, develop, test and verify electronic circuits

 

Creating production-ready schematics and PCB layoutsPart sourcing and qualification

 

Hands-on work with robots:Prototyping, validating, and testing electrical/electromechanical assemblies for eventual high volume production​

 

 

 

Work Collaboratively With:

 

 

 

Domain experts to design electronic features specific to end-users' needs

 

Mechanical and software engineers to collaborate on an interactive lifelike robot

 

OEM and vendors to bring the robot to mass production (International travel is expected for this position)

Minimum Qualifications:

 

 

 

BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field 

 

3+ years end-to-end experience designing circuits for mass market products

 

Very comfortable being hands-on with our robots’ systems: soldering, assembly, bringup, wiring, testing, etc.

 

EDA software proficiency required

 

Strong understanding of digital and mixed-signal circuit design

 

Love to collaborate in a team environment

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

 

MS in Electrical Engineering preferred

 

Comfortable building relationships and collaborating with overseas vendors to manufacture cost-effective electronic products, from concept to mass-production

 

Deep understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor based circuits

 

Familiarity with common system components of mobile devices: application processors, DRAM, flash memory, cameras, MEMS sensors, and LCDs

 

Experience designing for electromechanical products, including motor selection, motor drivers, and positional feedback

 

Understanding of digital and analog audio systems, including microphones, audio DSP, audio amplifier design, and speaker enclosures

 

Familiarity with wireless design, especially design experience with IOT products incorporating Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi radios

 

PCB design experience for space-constrained systems, including working in 3D and collaborating with mechanical engineers to findcreative solutions

 

Programming competency in C/C++ to support your electronic design process

 

Excellent oral and written communications skills
