Hardware Design Engineer at Peloton

Peloton Technology is transforming the trucking industry, bringing groundbreaking safety, efficiency and data to the trucks that drive the economy. We are a hands-on team of action with diverse backgrounds, united by a common goal. Peloton is looking for a Hardware Engineer that will work in the team that provides the on-vehicle computing platform and electronics that make up Peloton’s truck hardware systems. This is a key role in productizing the current and next generation hardware systems and will entail identifying, evaluating and integrating components and modules that increase reliability, lower cost, and improve performance.

Required Experience

    • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering or similar degree with
    • 3-8 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in analog and digital circuit design including practical component selection.
    • Experience using schematic capture and PCB layout CAD tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
    • Experience working with 3rd party CAD designers on physical placement and routing.
    • Experience working with GPS receiver modules/chips,
    • Experience working with display and camera designs/technologies
    • Knowledge of CAN physical layer and protocol for Class 8 trucks
    • Experience working on a mass-produced product and interaction with MFG/CM teams
    • Excellent debug and validation skill set, including test equipment understanding (scopes, LA, etc.)Good understanding of mechanical and thermal requirements needed for automotive/trucking market.
    • Ability to efficiently collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and contribute positively to the engineering community environment.
    • Occasional travel may be required but is not a critical component of this position. 

Nice to have Qualifications

    • Experience developing code/scripts with any of C/C++/Python/Go in a Linux environment.
    • Harness and cable design back ground with Zuken or equivalent tool.
    • Lab skills such as soldering for updating HW and removing part.
    • FPGA/Verilog design experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) and specific tool support
    • System (HW/SW) integration experience for automobile/class 8 trucks.
